Our Church History

“We plow the fields and scatter; the good seed of the land, but it is fed and watered by God’s almighty hand. God sends the snow in winter, the warmth to see the grain, the breezes and the sunshine and soft refreshing rain.”

It was fourteen years ago that God gave Pastor Sanders the charge to move to a new ministry. When the announcement was made to his former church congregation that he would be leaving for a new work that God was showing him, Pastor Sanders received unexpected responses. A number of people began to come to him seeking advice as to their spiritual future and the spiritual growth of their families. After listening to their concerns, Pastor Sanders planned and scheduled a meeting at the McDonald’s Cafeteria for those who were interested to discuss his future plans and to share with them what God had shown him.

The first meeting was attended by thirty-seven (37) people. There God made it clear to Pastor Sanders that these were “the people” that He was leading him to and this was the beginning to the “new work” that He was calling him to. A second meeting was then scheduled at McDonald’s Cafeteria, by our leader, for the purpose of planning and strategizing as to when and where we would begin our new ministry. It was agreed that we would make arrangements to meet at the Conference Room there at the cafeteria however; God did not allow this to be so. He had already selected the site and had gone before us to make the path clear. On the fourth Sunday in November, November 22, 1998, the first service was held at 4347 Statesville Road. There were seventy-four people in attendance and Pastor Sanders’ sermon topic was “Where Do We Go from Here?”
